MuttleMcTuttle 21
Got loads of birds visiting the garden for food now. I put out table scraps, peanuts, sunflower seed, a home made bird cake made with suet, beef dripping and bird seed, and mixed wild bird food which I get in 25k sacks from the feed merchants. It's toughest for the insect eaters, like wrens, the more omniverous birds fare slightly better. I think the bunnies have put on enough fat eating my grass to see them through a few weeks of hardship! I've seen a few out, but they seem to stay underground more and nibble at the hedge roots etc. It's hard for wildlife in winter, but it's nature, and at the end of the day the strongest will survive...
