shamus 36
I took a ferret from our local rescue as they really did'nt have anywhwere for her.She was painfully thin and covered in small black things, not fleas but they bit me to pieces whatever they were.Anyway, she has turned, fairly quickly, into a decent working jill, can't really fault her especially as it her first season. Kay 3,709
The best advice i can give is go to a rescue thats been on the scene a while, lots of folks get a couple of ferrets & low & behold 3 weeks later there running a rescue, there was a list on here pinned but its been removed with a list of decent rescues if you post what area your in i am sure someone will have a reccomendation of a decent rescue fairly close to you Quote Link to post
matt241075 12
hi even if there are a bit fiesty at first dont give up on them get them out working i find this calms even the worst of them out atb matt Quote Link to post
Kaiserdog 20
All of my ferrets are rescues, after they settle in with plenty of handling & a bit of work, there usually good. Quote Link to post
stealthy1 3,964
I have two ferrets I rescued in October 08, the hob I had snipped this year, and the jill works like a little demon, I went through a few packs of plasters with her at first, but now you could'nt afford to buy her from me Give them a chance, if your as good as you say you are with ferrets, then it wont take you long to turn them around Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
The best worker I currently own was a starved, flea ridden rescue. He's a real attribute to my team and the worker I would most sorely miss. He nailed me a good one the first day he was here but it has been well worth it. Quote Link to post
The one 8,479
Better going to a rescue as i always think with unwanted ferrets they might be getting rid of them for a reason Quote Link to post
Coneytrappr 30
It isn't always a good reason though mate...before I took him the albino in my sig was going to get bucketed because...he was albino. Some people. And most behavioural issues can be easily sorted with a bit of time and good treatment. I nearly always rescue mine, as it has always worked out very well for me. Ironically, the last kit I actually 'picked' from a litter to bring on turned out to be the most useless worker I had ever clapped eyes on. Just my luck. Quote Link to post
Tiggypud 0
I am a rescue and cant stand to see any ferret in trouble, tell us where these ferrets are if you dont go and get them let us know, either I will go and get them or I will ring a rescue or someone closer that will.
