Warne rings for Tikka/Sako

Recommended Posts

bugger- Sako's clever marketing ploy- I guess like mauser and blaser only making their own mounts available... though if it was cost effective, i suppose you could have the taper machined out by a gunsmith so they were parralel... but i reckon it would cost more to do that than just buy the rings themselves...

I doubt it, Tikka has a straight receiver and the Sako 85 is a tapered one AFAIK, but I've only had the 75 and the T3.

Perhaps i should have elaborated!

85 receiver is the same as the 75. tikka and sako rings are interchangeable, bases will be required on the sako for those warn rings. They will be a futile exercise as they will not provided for the correct eye relief unless your scope tube is on the longish side. Warn does make qd rings for sako which don't require bases you will usually strike the same issue with most hunting scopes. As mentioned sako are smart they wont even release specs so others cant copy and better theirs. There are not many viable options. My advise would be to purchase OFFSET optilocks as the work best on these rifles. Even though the bushing system is garbage! (their rings are not machined properly if you measure them so bushing them allows for the error). In saying that i own a set on a 75! If you go ahead be careful not to over tighten as you will damage/dent your tube.

Not sure it is a marketing ploy, Sako bought Tikka, the Tikka has developed along Tikka lines and whilst there are Sako influences (and barrels) I don't see this as a deliberate marketing ploy. I could be wrong of course. :hmm:

And Don't forget Beretta owns them "both", so a whole load of other potential marketing ploys as well!! :whistling::hmm::thumbs:

But I personally consider Optilocks a complete rip off whichever way you look at it!!
