ferreting today

FOX put the ferret down some rabbit holes and it was down for bout 10 mins nothing it came out and went down another hole under some brambles then bout 1 min went by and i heard some crashing in the brambles and out bolted charlie, i paused for a sec, as i could not believe it then thought 'shoot it' so i lifted the gun quickly bang missed it ran into some reeds then came out the other side bang missed it then ran round the pond and passed me about 20 yards i quickly reloaded 1 cartridge and shot again but the fox stopped as i shot so i missed it infront, then legged it across the field, i could not believe that i missed a fox 3 times at no further than 25 yards at the most . i then carried on and managed to get 4 good bunnies for ferret food before i was too cold,

Aye you get a shock when its rabbits that your expecting to bolt and a charlie pops out as long as your ferrets all right thats the main thing

heard of it happening apparantly foxs bolt to the sight of a ferret

I'm not supprised "NOD" that old ferret is built like a patterdale I'm only supprised he never mixed it and you had to dig and break through to a well payed charlie. LOL
