Hannah4181 260
The key to a healthy dog is a balanced and varied diet . .IMO. If your mixing a complete with meat and tripe i can see no reason why the dogs will be lacking anything in their diet. It may be an idea to look into the argument on feeding meet and kibble together, if your talking raw meat, i think there can be an issue with differing rates of digestion of the 2 products. I don't feed kibble often so have never looked into it. There is a few on here that will answer your questions i'm sure.
mikeyblue 28
I feed Dr Johns Gold to mine and he does great on it. Good condition, coat and great energy levels. Although others on here dont rate it, I would try it. I dont think you can knock it for the price, especially if you are mixing with meat.

wexford Pa 84
I wud be 1 those people that wud stay away from red mills, but other than that u seem to feed your dogs a decent diet and id add some greens to that diet too.. But to answer ur question i dont know much about that brand of food but as long as its got protein, ash, fibre n various oils u can try it out n see how ur dogs take to it.. If i was tryin new food id give it 2 weeks, ud have a good idea by then how there takin to it.. Hope it helps a bit pal.

sandymere 8,263
I've used Dr Johns in the past and found some dogs were a little loose but not all, at only 18% protein the meat/tripe you add will top it up nicely ( working dogs do well with a litte extra). What it really comes down to is wether your dog does well on it, if so then it'll be fine as part of the diet.
