hi lads just after a bit of info, one of my permission is a small piece of land made up of 4 fields (roughly 20 acres i think) where i go to shoot rabbits (my other 3 permission are all pigeon shooting and another is in wales so i only go there about once a month a real hot spot for rabbits down there thoughthumbs.gif ) anyway my question is what is the best time to go lamping? im fairly new to lamping there are about 7 or 8 different rabbit holes and every time ive gone there early morning (7.00 am) ive seen fresh droppings but no rabbits and i went for a walk on wednesday (without the gun) and saw loads of tracks in the snow but again no rabbits, ive been lamping there twice now both about 7:30 till 9ish and not saw a thingcensored.gif so im puzzledblink.gif i know theres rabbits there but i cant see them (the day the farmer took me on about 5:30 one summers afternoon we saw about 7) so any advice lads would be much appreciated.

Get there on a dark night with little moon light, nice bit of wind, there should be plenty bud. Happy hunting.

Hi there

New to this forum so I don't know if I'm over-stepping the mark here, but I've always been told that wind is a problem for rabbits and they don't like to come out on a windy night.

To be honest, I've not done a lot of lamping myself (I've done a bit but not enough to say I'm an expert), so it's difficult to back up what I've been told and the experiences I have had.

I just wanted to ask if other members have had different experiences and would like to add to the 'wind'theory.
