i got thinking is it better to keep feeding carcass to the ferrets in this really cold weather or would they be better of on the dry type of feed for ferrets ,why i say this is the dry feed must have a higher oil,fat level in it then say rabbit or pigeons .your thoughts please

Ive always found winter rabbit to have a good fat content to it, although I do also feed dry

I always feed meat no that dry crap but ive started putting the rabbits ,pigeons etc in the bed compartment as i think the heat from the ferrets will keep it defrosted longer and there mixing in the feathers and pelts with there shavings and shredded paper

I know i've upped the amount mine get fed to be on the safe side, (They'll not be out for a few weeks for sure).

They have got really fat on the chicken carcases. I don't really feed mine any of the dried food, but they soon pack on the pounds in a week or two on meat, they are certainly not struggling the fat buggers.

mine are on dry food all year round got 3 ferrets now and they never had rabbits they work well look wow to coats are so nice very healthy ferrets took them for there injection to stop them coming on heat and the vet said never seen ferrets look so well justsaying but others dont feed it and only rabbit bet theres look the same as mine

feed your ferrets dried and raw meat, you can give them a raw egg aswell,this diet will do them well in the cold weather,all the best mate

Anyone who's been bitten by a ferret will know that frozen meat is no problem, nowt wrong with a meat ice lolly
