zini 1,939
Hi all, Here is some more video footage from a few hours shooting with my BSA R10 yesterday at my work place . In this footage you will see me first plinking, shooting 3 small targets to ensure a perfect zero prior to going and shooting live animals, each target getting smaller in size as I shoot. You will then see me using the scope camera hunting vermin at work using hold under and hold over from 20 metres out to 40 metres. One of the longer shots is taken with a side wind so you will see a demonstration of me adjusting the scope for elevation and windage at 40 metres (43.7 yards) to ensure a perfect head shot on a feral pigeon . This shot demonstrates that even if your scope and rifle are zeroed perfect in a wind free range you still have to sometimes aim off to achieve a perfect shot when outside in the wind and elements. This is something that needs to be mastered by all hunters whatever calibre of rifle you are using, as the wind even effects 50 calibre rifles in certain situations at range. I hope that you enjoy the footage and please feel free to leave your comments Here is the link to the footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hf5NlCmw-sE Zini. zini 1,939
Cheers guys. I am glad that you enjoyed the footage, and I hope it illustrates various shooting skills with a .22 calibre rifle well . I’ve got the rifle in work with me again today so hopefully will (work depending) be able to get out and shoot some more vermin for my boss . He wants as many corvids and squizzers shooting as possible as we have a massive problem with them stealing song bird eggs and killing their chicks and eating them in the Spring time . I’m hoping that by Spring though I will have them under control and will have put a dint in their numbers . Zini Edited January 7, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

sibaldib 6
Brilliant footage Si. Particularly liked the 40 yarder where you were making allowance for holdover and windage. I guess this just comes from experience, but I'm not sure I would have the confidence to move off target that much for the wind. More please. Cheers Sib Quote Link to post
zini 1,939
No problems Sib pal, I will be posting more in 10 minutes With practice and experience you will be able to compensate for the wind pal easy enough. Si Quote Link to post
