not bad actually for starters got some new permission, kernow oli came up run his dog in a maasive dead set thats been around for over a hundred years, located on the edge of some woodlands

netted up loads of holes stood over with a shovel  the rest left some holes open as we wanted a bolt to the guns. all my terriers are to young so i borrowed a nice terrier off a mate for oli to use as a stud to one of his bitches run the dogs in, one charlie ran out next to me then back in another hole. ten minuets later from the other side a dog fox bolted. jed went back in marking we new charlie was still in there he poked a head out a hole then in again but jed had trouble finding it i reckon in total there must have been over 30 holes all along dont know if they link up but they were every where one of the guns with us his dad who is 93 said he remembered when he was young say 10 or so the village went out and dug 8 badgers out and he thinks the set was there over 100 years befor that! now all that is there is charlie alot of the runs have collapsed but all in all a good f*****g day now all i need is a terrier that knows his stuff to bring my two on anyone have one?.

heres a photo of my big boy and torres my mates lakey/patt

TO GET AWAY FROM THE PUPPY THREADS, HOW'S THE DIGGING SEASON GOIN FOR THE RST OF YOU LADS?

should be a good thread, but you not going to tell us how youre doing??

I'M HAVING A GOOD SEASON, MADE IT TO DOUBLE FIGURES WITH A 1ST SEASON DOG, DOUBLE FIGURES WITH A 2ND SEASON DOG AND JUST SHORT OF 10 WITH AN OLDER DOG. HAD OUR SHARE OF BOLTS AS WELL. HOPING TO GET ANOTHER 6-7 DIGS BEFORE THE SEASON FINNISHES IN 6 WEEKS TIME.

I can verify hephers quote. The dog has ben dug around 13-15 times this season. For the mathematicians if a season lasts 6 month and the dog was being dug twice a month thats 12 digs.In fact the dog has been dug every week for the last 4.Not that i think you deserve an explanation but just testifying hes no lier :feck::laugh:

YOUNG DOGS WE ARE WORKING THIS SEASON. SORRY NO PICS OF THE VETERAN. LEFT SIDE IS MY 1ST SEASON DOG, RIGHT IS MY MATES 2ND SEASON BITCH. BOTH ARE WORKING WELL AND WHEN THEY GO TO GROUND WE ALWAYS GET A RESULT EITHER A BOLT OR A DIG. THE VETERAN BELONGS TO MY DIGGING PARTNER WHICH IS A ROCK SOLID BITCH AND NEVER FAILS, AS IS THE SAME WITH THE 2 YOUNGER DOGS WE'RE WORKING. I LOST MY EXPERIENCED DOG IN THE SUMMER DUE TO AN ILLNESS. WE HAVE PUPS TO RUN ON FOR NEXT SEASON WHICH ARE 5 MONTHS OLD NOW. I HAVE TO SAY THAT THERE IS A GENUINE LACK OF POSTS ON THIS THREAD FOR THERE BEING SO MANY SOCALLED TERRIERMEN POSTING IN THIS SECTION. GOOD LUCK TO ALL THOSE THAT ARE GENUINELY WORKING DOGS FOR THE REST OF THE SEASON.

this season hasnt been so good for me certainly not a patch on last year,my big dog brock has had between 10 - 15 neally all digs he is in to his 4th season now and for some reason has opted to bay less and less almost mute on some digs which has ment a lot of time in sik bay. last year he totalled 37 digs and bolts but dont think hes going to see them sort of numbers again. i have year old bitch in and i had a good dig to her on new years eve, i have been doing a lot of diggin with mates this year so the pups getin to see a lot of work watching and dead rags so i will bring her on slow no rush. ive also been concentrating on a halfbullx pup that i recently so next season i have high hopes for. finnaly ive been beating ni on everyday grouse pheasent and partridge :wallbash: but has resulted in some brilliant permision were foxes are plentiful. and the odd callout on another big pheasent shoot which i had one hell of a dig to this season,

was called up early one morning (still in bed) to be told a fox had been tracked to ground. half an hour later on some treachures roads i was there. really wasnt expecting to a see cross between a rock pile and one of them horrible earths you stay away from anyway let brock take a quick look on the lead and by his reaction was pretty obvious charlie was home. so nets went on (a lot) and we stood back the keeper with the 12 bore half an hour passed could hear a little bit of baying at the start and then silense so i proceeded to get a mark. 16 foot!!! made as much racket as i could to try and get it to move. this wasnt going anywhere. reluctantly i began really easy soil this and i made steady progress got to about 4 foot and i hiit the stoneface shit! by this poin he had been in a while and couldnt hear a peep out of the dog. realising this was futile i made out some dints on the bottom of the ledge which when uncovered was stone that had been pointed in to block entrances :censored: the keeper went on to tell me that this was a bad place that foxes would always take residence in and had been destroyed over the many years by numerous keepers. gritted my teeth and began to smash my way in as the dog was situated 4 ft in. after the stone was all cleared i had to deal with expanding foam, sheep netting and you name it was there. finnaly got there to find brock with a dispatched dog fox in his prime :toast:. to say the keeper was happy was an understatement, isnt it nice when the first time you go out a new bit in front of new people things go to plan. will never forget that one atb jamie and heres one of the big lad when he was a pup
