zini 1,939
Hi all, Here is some video footage as previously requested by Airgunners, Spring & Precharged section members from yesterdays accuracy testing using my BSA R10 in .22 calibre, FX 16 grain pellets, Tasco 6-24x50 AO scope and my bipod. The group size at 30 metres (32.8 yards) that I achieved was quite good I thought for me, but I know that the rifle could do a lot more with a better shot behind it. Its far more accurate than what you are going to watch I'm sure. I rate this rifle as one of the very best that I have ever shot. Its simple to operate, it works flawlessly everytime without fail and balances perfect. After the accuracy testing I put on my scope camera to demonstrate hold under at 25 metres (27.3 yards), cross hair shooting at my zero range of 30 metres and hold over from 35 metres (38.2 yards) out to 50 metres (54.6 yards). The Tasco scope was set at x10 magnification throughout and the video camera zoom was used to zoom between x3 and x 6 optical between the different ranges. The teaspoon heads used in the test were 33mm wide by 45mm long making them about the size of a wood pigeons head at all ranges. I hope that you enjoy the shooting footage and it demonstrates hold under and hold over clearly enough. I have also attached my updated trajectory card for my new tests from today Please feel free to leave your comments Here is the link to the footage http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XQZrg-F4Wvk Zini Mil Dot Trajectory Chart.doc Edited January 6, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Thanks guys for the kind comments Hi Joey pal, Yes the spoon bent on the last shot pal. Just goes to prove that at 50 metres the 16 grain pellets still retain a good whack as them spoons are pretty solid things. I took the R10 out today with the scope camera for its first day on live vermin Ill post that footage later when i get home from work pal. I think you will be pretty impressed pal Si Edited January 6, 2010 by zini Quote Link to post

Marksman 934
Better than trying to explain on paper mate....well done! Just a note to add.... outdoor conditions will affect the way the pellet performs so if you aren't as fortunate as Si to have such a great indoor range don't expect the same results Darryl Quote Link to post

zini 1,939
Hi Darryl, Thanks mate and yes good point about the wind effecting the pellet outside in the elements when shooting . The further away the target and the stronger the wind the more you have to compensate for it. Its yet another skill that the air rifle hunter needs to understand and master to ensure accurate and humane kills . I have taken some good footage today that i will need to download to YouTube in the morning first thing as my internet dongle is super slow at night which demonstrates shooting with a side wind. I use the scope camera to shoot a 40 metre feral pigeon in the head with a wind coming right to left giving it 2 mil dots hold over and 1 mil dot right hand side . The pellet smacks the pigeon cleanly in the brain knocking it over stone dead . There is also about another 6 or 7 good kills ranging from 20 metres out to 40 metres . Ill post it in this section first thing in the morning for people to view. It should explain a lot as a picture or video explains a thousand words . Hi Nighteyes, I am glad that you are liking your R10 pal The rifle is just amazing and never ceases to amaze me. You had any good bags with it yet pal? I sure look forward to reading your reviews and looking at your photos. Hi Sib and Kev, You will only have to wait till tomorrow morning to see the kills lads Hi Stealthy, Yes i don’t care where it ends up pal as long as it helps some of the site members.
