no nose 0
does anyone agree that keeping a young pat off rabbits will make them a better fox dog, been told it will, any ideas, cheers only my oppinion but there are two types of terrier a digging one and a bushing one which do you want because once you teach them to hunt rabbits they go down any hole and you wouldent want to dig 10 ft to a rabbit .... would you Quote Link to post
erik 71
Bushing is not bad to do whit a terrier but still is the bunny here a big NO-NO but on the other site a black dog must just kill the rabit below ground Edited February 12, 2010 by erik Quote Link to post
brog 670
all my dogs bush and do earth work. imo the more bushing you show them the better when they bolt a rabbit to earth draw them away from the hole after a while they will learn what hole is for them. if they dont learn keep them on a leed ive only dug 1 rabbit in 8 years but i can suffer that to see the terriers bushing Quote Link to post

Iv dug one when mine was in her first season, it was pretty embarresing as i was with company at the time on someone else ground. Not very good at all, i felt a right c**t and its for that reason alone id not let an earth dog mess about with rabbits Quote Link to post
