Has anyone who has a look around this area noticed a dramatic drop in numbers around the area? On most of the places i walk for rabbits you was guarrentied to see a few everytime you went out. The last 2-3 months it got from seening them everytime to seeing maybe one in 4 trips out. I know numbers of everything drop in winter but this year seems to of all but disappeared. This isnt just one area either, its all across cheshire ive noticed. I noticed aswell in some places the setts had been covered with sticks (laid in a way to check if its being used or not) I heard whispers on the wind as well of them being shot. Can anyone shed any light, maybe a cull or something similar, has anyone else in the area noticed they have thinned out?

its a shame as they are lovely animals to see when out and about

i work on a farm on the cheshire borders , and i hunt a bit of land there too , all the farms round where i work are held up with t.b , the vet i spoke to last said he was shown a video from a farmer in chehire , in his meal shed from 21 00hrs till 2245hrs there was 18 badgers in his shed eating the meal , i asked him about a cull , his words where "there never will be a cull" there is a catch and inject program thats "on going" at this time .

as for numbers ive never seen a place like it for old brook , they are everywhere every run under a fence is thick with there hair , there are runs going across feilds like moterways , setts are being made larger every year and acres of farm land being lost , you can smell the stinking feckers most days , something needs to be done but it wont be done because this is "Great Britian"

down here they are a plague , nothing less , the numbers are at plague proportions. I put a thread up about a week ago , have a read . "the sins of the badger" its total destruction by pig. They are cubbing right now , but the two times that you get livestock predation by badgers are when the ground is either frozen solid or baked hard , and when billy gets in your poultry sheds he dont mess about.

Flint, if it had four legs and lives in the field, you have it in good numbers by you lol
