just wondering what price white pheasents and how meany colours can u get in them as am looking for some for around my yard

the white ones are called white alaskan snow pheasants, ive seen 1 cock on bird trader go for £65, theres a shoot near me that have them and theres a bounty of £50 for shooting them too,

i have one in my garden lol, hes a little stunner!

the main types of pheasant are:

phasianus colchicus mongolicus mongol without ring

p.c. torquatus chinese ringed ph

p.c. tennebrosus dark blue/green

p.c. versicolor japanese multi coloured( often white/light)

 

it is very rare to find pure pheasant,most are hybrid birds.

Mounst the general pheasent we put duwn, the dealer sold me a couple of blacks and a couple of white ones.

He charged £3 each as the others (poults).

 

We fine anyone that hits the black ones £30(for the beer fund) and if the white one is shot then all the guns that day have to throw £2 into the kitty for the man that shot it! Adds a bit of fun to the day!

You can buy white poults for about 8 to 10 quid....

 

The melanistic that dotty is on about are same price as a more usual strain of phesie, about £3 - 4.00
