i got a 7 mounth lakeland pup, starting to work well now. what bait you using mate.

hi id say peanut better is the best bait. but it takes a while for the rats to get used to the trap i found.

ive used chocolate , bacon , cheese and peanut butter !!! and the plcae that i have the trap set is crawling with them !!

yes it sometimes takes a while, like said above. if its crawling with them just give it time and youl soon get one in there for ya pup. atb mate let us know if you get one.

catching rats in a trap to realise for terriers IS ILLEGAL!

ive used chocolate , bacon , cheese and peanut butter !!! and the plcae that i have the trap set is crawling with them !!

dont know nothing about your permission mate but if its crawling with them why trap one,can you not dig to them or get yourself a smoker and see what the pup does when they bolt.if you know anyone with an experienced terrier get them to take there's along with you and that should bring your pup on.main thing give the pup time and be patient.good luck

if there are lots of rats about then funnel a run through the trap.this vastly increases the catch.

jumped the gun there a bit fella , i believe Rosey said nothing of releasing the rats to dogs

thanks a mill for all the advice will take it on board . the area where the rats are is a bit of waste ground but is next to a road not walled in so a bit afraid they'll bolt on to the road.

Leave the trap in the same place for a while. Rats are neophobic-they have an innate fear of new objects or changes on their territory and take a while to accept them.Can take a few weeks sometimes.
