mini moto's please help :(

hi all looking for a bit of info please!!!

i recently picked up a mini moto for the young lad( and me )it needs a few repairs and one of them is the pull start which i can get no problem on ebay but the part it attaches too is broke aswell could someone tell me what the name of this is so i can look for it i've searched for it but cant seem to find anything like it.

my uncle use to inport them last few years, i helped him out alot and use to buy 60plus of him, what a night mare they are, , i would personally stay clear of them, if your lad if like any normal lad it wont last him long, , made of monkey metal,

if i was you i would get rid of it they seem cool and fun at the start but if ur lad or you are like me and like messing bout on it on grass and not tarmack or slabs and go on grass they bust i snapd the engien on mine then it got fixd and i was goin along grass hit a bump and the spring bust and shot up through the seat and nearly hit my back and as t came of the bike got really low to the ground and i smached my knees

it's driving me mad it on the kitchen table in bits i can get the starter going but not right, seem to have no power to turn when i have the plug out it will turn ok f**k me it's time to f**k out and get a new one !!! marie

i think the part you are on about is the FLY WHEEL and i know someone thats got a spare for a few quid,if indeed that is the part

take the bit you are on about off the bike then put photo up,my mate re-builds these for a living,i had to explain the part to him over the phone,he said fly wheel straight away,common for these to break, like you i dont know one end of the engine to the other so get better pic up then might be able to help you

thanks i took a better picture of the bit thats broke you can see where half of it is missing and also one of the white clip things i thought this was the part that the flywheel on the pull start clipped onto ?

if you just want to get it started get a cordless drill and a socket put on bolt in middle of fly wheel and let rip (lol)think you have to pull back brake at same time ,this way at least you can try it out before spending money

Hello mate, As others have said it is the flywheel. Have a look on flebay, there`s loads of brand new parts for no money, including flywheels. I have just got a minimoto myself, i actually swapped a pair of motocross boots which weren`t being used so the bike stands me at nothing.

To be honest it`s a cracking little bike but took some getting going. I stripped the carb down to clean the old oil out which seperates from the petrol if stood for any length of time as well as putting a new mix of oil a petrol in. And just to prove how much of a barsteward they can be i tried starting it today after only being stood for 2 days and it wouldn`t have it.

Anyway, good luck with it and remember to drain the petrol out if you don`t intend to use it for any length of time, at least then the oil won`t seperate in the carb and crank.

cheers and thank you i searched ebay for a flywheel for mini moto and its showing me something completly different. so i'll bring it to someone who knows wat to get

the bike hasnt been started in a while as the electrics arn't working properly so the pull start is my only hope for now .well thanks again hopfully we'll get it up and running for when the frost thaws out
