awen 29
just been reading a post choc patts theres a few comments on there that made me think, ive got a 10 year old russel, hes purely a bushing dog mainly for deer and a good one at that, hes getting on so made the decision to breed of him but just couldnt find a bitch that firstly worked for what i do and secondly one from good breeding. a bitch eventually came up a mates dad had a 9 month kg russel direct from the man and wanted rid told me it wouldnt be a fox dog which didnt bother me as im not into diiging i liked its look/frame and nature so decided to buy its now 1 year old. so this is the question, when do i breed? obviously not now, but 2 'is that to young'? she proved herself to me the first time i took her out and many times since. i have 5 pups already sold and want 1 for myself. so would i be a 'c**t' for breeding of a young bitch? what i dont want is to wait and either the dog passes on or is old and passed it!! you opinions would help thanks awen Quote Link to post
Big bald beautiful 1,231
As long as your not bigging them up to be top class or just breeding for £, i cant see the problem. if your breeding for yourself and a mate, then why not Quote Link to post
stormyboy 1,352
Go for it.You're breeding for yourself-you dont need any "experts" giving their permission! Quote Link to post

Hannah4181 260
Its like the puppy police on here!!! If your dogs, in your eyes are doing what you feel happy with them doing, to a standard that you feel justifies breeding . . . then go for it. I think the issue is young guns that are in either their 2nd or 3rd season, being bred and then portrayed as pups from 100% proven parents. Quote Link to post

What a ridiculous thing to put! Do you understand the costs involved in rearing a litter of puppies to a CORRECT and DECENT standard?? Why the hell can't this guy breed his dogs to produce good bushing terriers for a reasonable price?? I agree that there are thousands of utter pricks breeding for money and with little regard for the quality or condition of the pups produced, but do you think those people would post a thread on a public forum asking advice and opinion on the said breeding?? . . . . Of course they wouldn't. Quote Link to post

Your correct that reply is rather damming of character . . . . . . .But i still feel that charging a reasonable price for well reared pups is not a totally hangable offense. I respect you for the manor in which you breed and distribute puppies, all i'm saying is that not everybody who sells puppies is in it for the money. Quote Link to post
