need some rain to soften the ground

Recommended Posts

what yous all crying about. ur dogs pads should be hard enough to handle the hard ground. ave been out constant in the snow with my lurcher and springer. get some wee nicks on there pads that heal up over night. ave actually done great from the snows came. got 5 last wk then another 2 a couple a days later then another 4 the day and ma lurchers still a pup. that was just out a walk with the spaniel and the lurcher. a wouldnt go lamping in this weather, theres been no wind and a bit bright and your obv going doing stand out like a sore thumb in the white snow. suggest yous get road walking with your dogs and get there pads hardended up

there is no chance i would run my dog on the ground where i am its not snow its fields full of ice and where there isnt ice its plough fields and the ground is just solid clumps of muck but there as hard as rock, so realy it hasent just got to do with how hard there pads are, theres knocked toes an broken legs to wory about to, so in the long run its not worth the hastle of having a laied up dog, or even a dead dog as there is a chance of that too

in that case your better just keeping your lurchers as pets then because everytime your lurcher chases something its got a risk of breaking leg or hitting something and killing itself. if that bit a ground is too hard too run am sure theres plenty a places you could take your dog for a bit of daywork. ma 12month old lurchers been out constant in the snow and its not grumbled once. nicks here and there but still running good.

not pets mate just dont want any f**k ups with the dog as i only have the one dog to run this season. they do see a bit of day work but nothing serius until the ground softens up. you would no why i wont run them on it if you seen the ground round here, just sheets of ice
