AKA-BRINDLE 879
why is that running? my dogs have always done this(and alot of friends dogs),its a great conditioning tool for bulls, some will fight but as long as you know your dogs theres no issue should always have the dogs rear feet on the ground. Used to have my spring pole set up so only back feet where on the ground but found they got a better work out if i set it lower so all 4 feet where nearly on the ground front ones making contact if they pulled hard enough...in fact now a days i work em by hand with just a knotted bit a rope tug of war style...find pulling against me makes em work harder...no matter what height the pole was set at they would allways run over and swing on the f****r...these days the wife is growing a vine up it Quote Link to post

Jamie93 57
I know every dog is different but I've got a 6yr old staffy and he is a bastad. Indoors he's the most loving dog I've seen but outside he goes loopy if I let him off the lead and won't come back but do you reckon with a bit of hard training in a closed tennis court he will change? blackstaff 488
I also read it and thought it was a good article. A man writing in a national publication that modern day show staffords are NOT what they shold be like, and they should be fitter and revert more to the athletic side is IMO a huge step in the right direction of the breed i love. I think that it has opened alot of peoples eyes to what has happened to the breed over the past 30+ years by people wanting a dog to look a certain way and not worry about the health implications. So long as the get a dog that looks good then to hell with the health side . I see alot of staffords which IMHO are way too fat and can't move properly but the general public think that this is how the stafford should look I've had people say to me they think that my dog is skinny When you explain that most of the modern day staffords they see couldn't last 5 mins round the park chasing a ball then how would they last doing the job they were designed for ?? Anyone else's thought's would be good, would be good to hear both sides Quote Link to post
