first fox...

Recommended Posts

well me and a mate were out lamping rabbits earlier when we turned the lamp on and guess who we sore mr charlie about 300 yards away... i quickly changed cartridges... we didnt think he would come in but he was facing towards us anyway so we srated to squeek just by squeezing our lips and sucking, we had to improvise as we didnt have a squeker, he came in straight away i waited and waited while my mate kept the lamp on him, he kept coming, to about 30 yards and i couldnt wait anymore... bang, bang, emptied both barrels on him, he was down after the first but i just wanted to make sure that he wasnt suffering... sorry no pics but was one hell of a night but didnt get any rabbits... but an amazing experience... he was a very big dog fox with a lot of black on his back and tail...

cheers

Nice one Jezz. my first was a big dog with the shottie as well. 56g #1 dose the job nicely. one barrel and all over.

have a look on u-tube for making fox calls, there's a couple of easy ones on there. i like the foxcall.uk caller and the wam as a mouth call and then the electronic call to get the interest to start with. bung me your email and ill send you a collection of fox calls for your mp3.

regards

Phil.

Well done on your first fox mate. just try squeeking on the palm or the back of your hand...if you can master this then its the best way! if your out lamping and you drop your fox call and you dont know how to squeek then your nights foxing has gone down the pan! it takes a while to get the high pitched squeel but when you nail a fox that you squeeked yourself its a lot more satisfying. failin gthat you can just run a piece of polystyrene down some gglass ( my mate has a car wing mirror attacthed to his lamping battery) that also work a treat.

HAPPY HUNTING.

ps: take a camera net time...and did you take skin you first fox tail?
