Digging question?

Im fairly new to the digging thing and have a border bitch, she is into her first proper season. The end of last season she was showing good signs but very slow. Iv persevered with her this season and she is now coming on leaps. today we entered her in a place, and with in 5 minutes could here her bayin we let her settle for a while thinking we were on and then she moved. This went on for the next 25 minutes and we then got a .4 reading that had settled. We dug down nice and easy and found the b and f collar near some roots. I was f..kin gutted!!

We then spent the next 2 and a half hours tryin to find the bitch without the locator but we could not here her or she never showed once..

A mate whos been diging longer said we should put a collar on his bitch and hope she finds and try and get there quick!! Luckily she did find my bitch which had bottled up charlie in a real small pipe with its ass end towards the dog, she was totally silent and locked on but charlie was dispatched as normal.

Just wanted to know if there was any other way of doing it or was this the norm. cheers

That is the one thing i didn't like about the B&F collar, it was so big and clumsy, i've heard B&F have brought out a smaller collar, when you have a collar the size of the older B&F ones your more inclined to have dogs get hung up, and if your dog is hard and not a bayer then you are gonna end up in trouble

Shes not what i would call hard though mate. When i first started her she took a fair bit of stick but not as much now. Today was the first time i have found her with the fox facing away normaly she will sound off, but this time she was stretched out where it got a bit tight..

Yes mate, it was a shallow earth, .4 the deapest reading we got. But was about 7 mtr wide with trees and brambles so she would have took some finding..
