Raw eggs are great for dogs. They are about 90% high biological value protein, so yes, a great source of protein. Keep a dogs diet varied for best results, with protein coming from many sources such as muscle meat, organ meat (important, but making up no more that 15% of dogs diet), some fish, eggs and cottage cheese. Raw bones are v. important too, as are finely ground vegetables, stuff like carrots and dark green leafy veg being most valuable.

Keep milk to a minimum or not at all UNLESS its raw, unpasteurised milk. Dogs seem to do a lot better on raw milk, having positive effects on health compared to pasteurised milk which generally has a detrimental effect on health.

I would give no more than 2 eggs per meal for a large dog, 1 for a small/medium. The imprtant thing to remember is VARIATION. So that could mean eggs with veg one day, then all meat the next day, then potato and veg the next day, etc... Dogs do well when fed like this as opposed to feeding all food groups in one meal. Its a matter of correct food combining to facilitate optimum digestion.

I give my large dogs half a teaspoon of cod liver oil a day and my small ones a quarter of a teaspoon. That little is really all it takes. Its very good, commercial dog foods are almost all of the time deficient in or completely lacking in essential fatty acids. I also give my dogs a dose of glucosamine corresponding to their weight, every day once they reach a certain age. It makes a difference too.

Went on a bit of a tangent there, but it was a nutrition question...
