inan 841
ANYONE FEED EGGS? HOW MANY A DAY? BEFORE THEY RUN? I never feed a dog before work. Eggs are a valuable source of protein, but should be lightly cooked by cracking them into hot water, and letting them stand for about a minute, until the egg whites start to turn white. This destroys most of the avidin that binds the biotin in them.Eggs will not. make a dog loose, but too many can have the opposite affect. I used to give a dog a couple of eggs after a hard days coursing, cracked in a cup with hot water on them,it assists in muscle protein rebuilding, and the hot water helps the digestion of the eggs without damaging the protein and nutritional content of them. Now, with the cold snap I put a couple in with rabbit giblets and any veg left overs ,a drop of gravy granules and cook up a porridge ,then pour over their grub. I learned a little on the subject of eggs from Veterinary Advice For Greyhound Owners, by John Kohnke, he really knows his stuff.

My dogs eat raw too ,rabbit mostly ,that has been frozen for 3 weeks, I cook the giblets up to make a gravy to pour over their dinners during the cold weather, plus two of my three do not like raw lungs livers etc.
Guest clash
Soft boiled is the way to go,or the white cooked & the yolk raw.
