socksmacca 0 Posted January 3, 2010 Author Report Share Posted January 3, 2010 it probably wasn't the bite that gave the dog weils, it was probably picked up from the surrounding area as leptospirosis is passed through the rat urine and less commonly the bite. chances are if your dog's working it could have picked it up anywhere the rats have been. best bet is to get some decent anti bac solutions and clean all open cuts and grazes as soon as the job is over. really sorry to here about your dog. atb natter thanks for ur comments the vet did say very rare they get dogs with weils but when they do not a very nice site never known as many rats as this yr on the land i go hardly seen them previous yrs Quote Link to post
