CorkyJohn 808
I had a 3/4 bred a good few years ago & she was deaf. Live to hand bitch on rabbits & hares, would just run alongside fox & deer without attempting a take. She was extremely intelligent & made a good ferreting dog as she seemed to feel the vibrations & her head would be going back & forth quickly watching for a bolt. Never seen owt like it. She was a handy dog but I wouldn't have another, a man couldn't possibly find the work for the number of dogs Hancock keeps,so it is safe to say that the chances are the parents would've done very little in comparison to say a lad breeding a litter off his own bitch who works her week in week out. Your choice, but your statement saying you "know he's a peddler but you're getting one anyway" makes you sound like you don't have a clue. Good luck anyway Quote Link to post

I find it hard to believe your statement!!! I shouldn't though as Hancock has been breeding for a long time & there'll always be mugs with a pocket full of cash, seems there's still plenty of mugs now from what you say Quote Link to post
Irish Lurcher 1,013
Some nice looking dogs lads, But I always think of blonds when I think of a hancock dog, looks good, but nothing up stairs. Lad over this side brought one over and I think the dog ender up running away with a rabbit and living happly ever after. Quote Link to post
don1 1
he not into hunting dont think not with that stupid statement owt for easyist i think cos there easy to train Quote Link to post
minion 29
I had a 3/4 Greyhound 1/4 Border Collie from Hancock and was really pleased with her. Thought Hancock was quite a nice bloke too. The sire of my dog was called Goose and he was a nice looking lurcher. Good luck with what you get. Quote Link to post
ferreting 1
i know a few lads on thl who take full qaurry such as storm from W.H great worker and undisputed both good working hancock dogs Quote Link to post
rick12345 181
Quite happy with mine. Hes no world beater but good enough for me. A very bright dog too, which in itself can be a problem sometimes with training but he is getting better as he matures and i do prefer a dog with a mind of its own. Every one has their own opinions on hancock dogs, especially those with experience in lurchers equal to a masters degree (you know who you are) that when it comes down to it know feck all. I am sure that there is a few bad ones out there as with all litters but i always ask myself would they have all been crap with a different handler? Anyway as predicted someone started a thread to see some pics of hancock dogs and loads of people jump on the band wagon knocking them..... Quote Link to post
mark.a 0
Not another topic where people slag off hancock agian. Why give the lad a hard time? Ive seen some good hancock dogs work in the last 15 yearsor so. He may be a puppy farmer, but thats not what this topics about. Alot of the lads on this site would f**k up a dog with the best breeding in the world! Quote Link to post
