hi all

i have a six mounth old patterdale bitch that is very skinny and you can see all her ribs and spine i have wormed her and feed her well on chudlys puppy dry food and even tried her oon an adult food but she remain s the same she is livley and bright just wonderd if eny one else has had this and what can ido with her before i decide to take her to the vet eny help appricheated maby this is normal but it is quite enbarissing when other people see her as they think i am not feeding her but she is well looked after----------------------------------------

all i can think of unless she has some underlying problem is she isnt getting enough food ,try feeding her twice aday ,plus does she empy the dish when you feed her

i have been feeding her twice a day and when she eats she goes at it like she hasent been fed for days and she is constantly after food that why i thought it was worms but still the same after pill about 8 days ago

mabey i should get her in to the vet for a look

take her to the vets mate, there is a condition i think its called canine immune deficiengy syndrome,

a freind had a bulldog with it , dont matter what you do it wont put weight on ,

it may not be this but best get the vet to be sure

it was responding to treatment tho there is no cure as such , then at about six years old it took a real bad turn for the worse got so weak it could hardly stand so was pts,

i not saying that is what is wrong with yours but get it to vet asap ,hope all turns out ok

feed the dog 3 times a day and feed breast of lamb , ox hearts etc feed all she will eat if she eats it all give her more but don t go silly with it little and often is the key plenty of fatty meat or chicken carcases should do the trick, in this cold wheather with a lot of exercise she will be burning up loads of cal s etc just jeeping warm will burn fat like you wouldn t believe, lots of little and often thats the key

thumbs.gif same advice from me as toppers thumbs.gif .. try soaking your dry puppy food and add boiled pasta and rice aswell.

hi took dog to vet and he gave me another worm pill gave her that now she is comming on fine looking mutch better just glad it was not to serious
