CO CHISE 330
im fortunate to be able to take my terriers to work with me as i work on a farm but today i f****d up a little, when working a terrier of the lead i ALWAYS have them collared up, whilst working round the farm i let the dogs do abit of mooching about and they get the odd long tail then on my dinner i take them for a walk round the boundary of the land, ive walked these fields 100's of times with them and know the land well, today was a different thing, whilst walking the land and heading back to the farm my old bitch shot of in a small patch of cover where theres afew bunny sets, she doesnt normaly work bunnys so thought a fox would bolt out of it, after 5 mins she didnt return so i smashed through the cover and could hear her on in one of the bunny sets, a little 3 holer that was very tight and she wasnt collared up, so i went back to the farm for afew things, i tried to judge the set and dropped a hole that was about 3ft, i had a listen and she wasnt much further in, i then dropped another hole and lucky enough i broke through to the bitch, i lifted her out and could see the fox sat there, i left the hole open for charlie to bolt whilst i went to do abit of graft, after a hour i went back down to fill the hole but the f****r was still sat there, so ive left it open and ile have to fill in in the morning, big lesson learnt with the collar as it could of been alot worse, from now on they'll be on whilst im at graft, heres a pic of him, Quote Link to post
