Simoman 110
Next year I'm thinking of trading in my estate and getting a 4X4, now i've driven landys, navaras etc and like the idea of having a cab for my famly and a separate area for the dogs as the amount of dust, hair and crap that cover my seats and dashboard is annoying A couple of my mates have navaras and when i ask them about fuel consumption they haven't a clue so could you 4x4 owners tell me the mpg on the following cars i'm looking at please Nissan Navara lwb Shogun Ford ranger Ta
ChrisJones 7,975
Can't help with any of them but I'd be amazed if they're doing anything more than the low 30's...
MIKE 18
I got a lwb Pajero which is the same as a shogun and I get around 27 to the gallon running around and 31 to the gallon on a run ...........most of them are around the same you will get a little better with the newer machines but you ain't gonna get car economy with a 4x4

nelson 0
It all comes down to weight, engine type and aero dynamics at the end of the day. There is no secret formula, basically for the benefit of 4wheel drive there is a weight and shape penalty. The only governing factor is personal choice, any advice is subjective and only you can decide what is best for you. For economy, Peugot 106 Diesel.Simple as that,4x4- whatever takes your fancy but the Navara is bit less Juicey Chuff me just seen your list of nice to haves,DO NOT get a Ford Ranger....they are shite
targa 5
Try a Mazda pick up 2500 mate, much cheaper as a Navarra, same power and space on the inside, much smaller on the outside. Navarra: plusminus 14l/100km Mazda: 10l/100km.

hafod 1
navara is a reliable old truck, iff your looking for a model around the 51 plate, they were the heaviest on juice, the next model they brought out, they upped the break horse in them by 30bhp also giving better fuel consumption,as for the new model,i honestly couldnt tell you much, you looking around 30 to the gallon... shell 42
I've just bought a Navara 2.5 TDi, 51 plate, and absolutely love it. For the size of it it has a great turning circle, really roomy and comfy inside. Does about 30 mpg. Tows like a good one, drives lovely. Used to have a Ford Maverick (same as Terrano), and the Navara is far better than that for mpg. shell
kiwi 4
so wots that work out in metric :11: how many litres to the 100kms. been thinking of ditching the mitsi triton for a 3lt turbo nissan narava 2004 model. or a hilux, the toyota is very good off road but they cost heaps in nz. the farm has a brand new one goes like a cut cat but not the same off road as the old hilux, think the nissan has better road manners.
