stroller 341
I have a little bitch kelpie x 6 months old. She is n absolute cow with my other dogs, jealous of attention, food, kennel space you name it she will have go at being top dog. On the other hand she is really easy trained and if you shout at her you would think she had been battered (I never hit my dogs) she goes down on her belly like snake. She is a fast and furious sort of dog she wants to play constantly until she is exhausted. Ive had first cross collies in the past but this dog is very different. Dont get me wrong she is a little cracker and has all of the hall marks of a great worker. Has anyone had similair experiences with his cross?? Quote Link to post

Neal 1,888
Some kelpies, though not all, take longer to mature than some collies (sorry if that sounds a bit sitting-on-the-fence-and-vague-in-the-extreme). As a result, you may find she takes a while to realize her real character. As an example, my oldest was a typical easy going pup until roughly eighteen months when he suddenly thought he was cock of the rock. He also completely ignored other people until about four years old when he suddenly became very amenable and gregarious to all and sundry; human and canine. Similarly, my bitch was friendly until about eighteen months when she became, and still is, an extreme one-man-dog. Conversely, Scout, the youngest of the three at thirty months, always has been and still is very outgoing and thinks everything likes her. Quote Link to post
stroller 341
they are certainly characters. she will be a star when she starts work i can tell already just in her general demeanour she loves to work and is extremely focused for a pup. i managed to get some photos up of her at the moment, like ive said in that post she isnt photogenic but she is a beauty she has real presence. Thanks for your input Quote Link to post
