AA S410 Air Cylinder Damage

Recommended Posts

Hi have come across an S410 potentially for sale but it has some flaring at the end of the air cylinder where it joins the filling valve assembly, It is quite visible and was wondering if anyone had come across this problem before which I think may have been caused by the previous owner over pressurising the cylinder.

I would appreciate some advice and if I should steer clear or is it a case of just replacing the cylinder and relevant seals without worrying about any additional damage to the internals. It is currently firing @ around 11ftlb with 150bar in it?

Thanks in advance Roly

So long as the thread's ok, it shouldn't be a problem. The finish on the AA's not the best, my 410 goes rusty as soon as a dark cloud blows past.. They need to be clean and dry and stay that way.

So long as the seller is willing to stand by the gun, then fair enough. A wipe over with an oily rag's all that's needed to keep the outside sorted and so long as the gun's been filled corectly and works as it should then you'll be fine.

Cheers.
