Meerihunter 7
I'm sure you would find T Clarks footage and his experiences of a wide range of COO Saluki's interesting if you saw it or got the chance hear from him, it's really the closest many of us are likely to get see COO Salukis. I know of some people who are in the process of importing from Iraq and Iran so I hope you for their sake you are wrong about the possiblies of importing from these areas. I would of gone the same route as you were it not for my Kazakh experience and connection's. The Kurdish/Syrian Saluki's certainly appear to be the cream of the crop good luck to you in following your dream. Edited January 1, 2010 by Meerihunter Quote Link to post
Meerihunter 7
Do you have any plans at all regarding registration of the pups? IE just sticking with the FCI registration papers or going KC or SPDBS? Quote Link to post

I agree it is a minefield out there thats why I'll stick to Kazakhstan or Kyrgyzstan. At least I know I could get a flight out there tomorrow and be relatively safe whilst out there. phil_g 1
the breeder no longer has the sire to your pup shaddow ..its dead my pup is out of ...tabesh and fargun as im sure you guess ,and that mating will never be repeated 0 gen i know that sabuk is dead , he died this time last year sabuk has already produced some good offspring , they are doing exceptionally well in the USA in OFC where they are actually coursed on hares not chasing a plastic bag like the saluki breeders in this country do. so obviously there are no more litters to had from Sabuk , Iraj will tell you how good Sabuk was and how good his offspring have been. i saw the mother of my bousseh run before she was bred from in Holland and to look at she is 2nd to none she is a complete power house, and she runs as well as she looks too. The breeder is a mad keen on coursing. and i was privalleged enough to go that step further to see for myself exactly what kind of saluki i was getting. some pics of Bousseh Dam beutiful Quote Link to post

Mine will come with UKC registration (one parent has russian papers the other Kazakh) which I hope to be able to keep working with as they have worked well for the intersts of the breeder of my pup. I'm only interesting in a registry to be able keep breeding records not one one that will dictate to me as the KC would and even the SPDBS. I really think it is time we controlled our own registry but that is easier said than done. Quote Link to post
riohog 5,701
the import papers say it all ....at least they wont use (tipex ) Quote Link to post
riohog 5,701
the import papers say it all ....at least they wont use (tipex ) as you know anything coming into the u/k has to be reg on the defra import licence so the k/c means nothing that would not be so easy to manipulate ,,as other methods or reg ...might be Quote Link to post
whippet 99 2,613
if i brought something like that i would put it on the mantle piece, theres nothing stopping that dog breaking its neck, first year of working. to me its more money than sense, even the transportation of animals can be fatal through the stress factor. you must be a millionaire. i will say that the dam is one of the most stunning salukis ive ever seen. but please dont temp fate, i wouldnt of posted till she was in me house. insurance must be good. as long as your living your dream and are happy, its a stunning pup. to me dogs arent trophies on appearance, there work horses, but if you can afford it , fair play to you , one litter and it will be all paid for- just jealous Quote Link to post
