A GOOD ALL ROUNDER

This is my first post on here i am into falconry and have been lamping a few times with the dogs. i wanted to know what everyone opinion on a allround dog for day and night. i am really thinking of getting into it. but would like to know a few of you lads favorites and tried and tested crosses

I use a wheatanx, brillent on rabbits and she can rough it up with charlie anytime

saluki x grey / bull x grey for me every time

Each to their own mate and its horses for courses but in my opinion you would struggle to beat a good old fashion collie x greyhound for your first running dog.

They have a fairly level head as a rule and a good one will deal with most quarry if you want it to.

Collie x for me all the way but does it matter what cross it is as long that you are happy with it

i was thinking of getting something like a deerhound greyhound collie cross or a saluki greyhound bull only a tiny bit bull tho but i wondered if this would hinder the speed and turning wanted really for charlie bunny and you know the other 1 not the black and white

Have to agree with fensuluki, ya cant beat a colliehoundx, I use one for the bunnies, she wont touch charlie, hence the wheatanx.

you want a salukie whippet bull greyhound got stamina gameness speed you dont want a dog 2 smart for foxes becouse they learn that they hurt so wont go near them again but the bull makes it as soon as it gets bit its first reaction is 2 kill and wont stop and it will catch you rabbits easy and also catch long ears its the perfict dog

all depends on wat groud ur runnin and wat u want to run but most lurchers are all rounders they adapt to ground an tha so basicaly what ever dog u like the look of i understand why ur askin but ur guna get a million and 1 different answers so thats the only thing i can think of is get the 1 u like the look of im sure it will work for u as iv said theres not a bad lurcher out ther

i have a little bitch of this cross she is 1/4 saluki 1/8 bull 1/8 whippet 1/2 greyhound she has a heart of steel havent tested her on fox bull all other game is no problem i fell i bit more bull would be better for fox but with that it would decrease the abillity of catching the faster daytime stuff imo.but done everything ive wanted of her
