WELL HERE I GO.

WENT OUT STALKING FALLOW DEER FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER YESTERDAY AND IM STILL AMAZED WITH WHAT HAPPEND. WE WENT OUT AROUND 7AM JUST BEFORE IT GOT LIGHT MY MENTOR TOLD ME TO GO DOWN THE EDGE OF A FIELD ABOUT A HUNDRED YARDS FROM HIM AND HE STAYED WHERE HE WAS AT A GOOD VANTAGE POINT, ANYWAY I MAKE MY WAY DOWN HE WAVES HIS MOBILE PHONE TO ME TO MAKE SURE IVE GOT MINE TO KEEP IN CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER I WAVE MINE BACK SO OFF I GO ON MY WAY I JUST GET TO MY SPOT WHEN I HERE A SHOT THEN ANOTHER  IM THINKING OH GREAT IM NOT GETTING ANY ACTION GWYNS GOT ONE THERE WONT BE A SHOT FOR ME. BUT THEN I THINK HANG ON WE'VE GOT A DEER  SO I RING HIM HE ANSWERS CHRIS GET UP HERE MATE IVE HAD 2 BUT YOU MIGHT GET A SHOT AT ONE AROUND THE OTHER SIDE OF THE MOUNTAIN AS THEY ARE MAKING THEIR WAY ROUND BUT HURRY UP! SO I MAKE MY WAY BACK UP MEET UP WITH GWYN, THEY'RE DOWN THERE POINTING DOWN OVER A RIDGE OK SO I MAKE MY WAY DOWN LAY DOWN, SET THE BIPOD UP, FLICKED THE SAFTY OVER AND POPPED MY HEAD OVER THE EDGE. THEY WERE'NT THERE? OK SO I WENT A COUPLE MORE YARDS TO THE LEFT AGAIN LOOKED OVER, THERE THAY ARE! THERE WHERE 4 ALL LOOKING UP AT ME OK AS THIS WAS MY FIRST I WANTED TO MAKE SURE IT WAS A GOOD ONE THE SHOT WAS SAFE ABOUT 130 YARDS AND IF SOMETHING DID GO WRONG IT WAS GOING IN THE GROUND I PICKED THE BIGGEST ONE THERE PUT THE SHOT IN THE HEART AREA AND DOWN SHE WENT. NOW BEING NEW TO THIS I WASNT EXPECTING ANYTHING MORE THAN WHAT I HAD BUT I GOT ALOT MORE. THERE WERE 3 LEFT STILL LOOKING BACK.SAME SHOT SAME PLACE NUMBER 2 IN THE BAG. THEN TWO RAN AND STOPPED ABOUT 25YARDS FROM THE OTHER 2 DEAD ONES AGAIN SAME SPOT JUST A COUPLE OF YARDS FURTHER DOWN HE WENT A YOUNG BUCK  IT WAS AT THIS POINT THE OTHER RAN AND I JUST SAT BACK AND REALISED WHAT HAD JUST HAPPEND TO ME 3 SHOTS 3 KILLS... WOW. I THEN WALKED BACK UP THE HILL AND SAW GWYN SMILING :D HE THOUGHT I PANICKED AND PUT MORE THAN ONE SHOT INTO THE ONE DEER AS HE COULD SEE ME HIT THE ONE BUT NOT THE OTHER 2 :hmm: WHEN I EXPLAINED WHAT HAD HAPPENED HE WAS LANDED FOR ME :D WELL THAT WAS MY FIRST DAY OUT STALKING WITH THE TIKKA 243 AND BELIEVE ME I WILL NEVER FORGET IT AS LONG AS I LIVE WE ENDED ON 4 DOES AND 1 BUCK THANK YOU GWYN AND ALL THE GROUND WORK BEFORE THE STALK THANK YOU FOR READING THIS AND I HOPE YOU ALL GET DAYS LIKE THIS. MADE 2009 FOR ME CANT WAIT FOR 2010 :drink:

Well done mate, but, and I don't want to pi55 on anyones parade, but, you might of been a bit quick to take the safety off, unless of course you forgot to say that you put it back on when you moved about.Sorry......Martin.

p.s. it is easy done when the adrenilin is pumping.
