oyama 27
I lamp rats at least once a week, possibly more as it gets colder.Normally around grain stores. As for rabbits,no way even with a leggy Beddy.Plus on the whole terriers make to much noise Quote Link to post
Guest AngelicAcid
Ave caught a fair few years ago with a terrier i had, only about 10 odd inches as well. Remember a terrier goes right in and searches even after out of site. Edited December 30, 2009 by AngelicAcid Quote Link to post
old school 500
i'd my first terrier when i was about 11 and i took it out with one of those old square box flood lamps... it couldnt see anythin past 20 yards but i really enjoyed any of the runs i got... tho i was easily pleased back then Quote Link to post
danny dolman 4
i have a jack russell who works rats on the lamp and also runs anything else lol Quote Link to post
pointer 543
id imagine there wont be many lads that lamp rats regularly that havent taken the odd daft rabbit or even bolted a fox from somewhere when out at night but its a rare thing.thinking about it my terriers had a couple of jackdaws and a pigeon aswell. hogdog 61
My brother's had some success lamping rabbits with a (slight and very quick) full English Bull Terrier so I don't see a reason why not. They will never be the best at it but that wasn't the question. If a Bull Terrier can do it I see no reason why a plummer or similar couldn't. Quote Link to post
Wxm 1,638
i cant see why a yorki or something like would take every squater it comes across. i would like to say it would be any good after 50yrds but i suppose it may have been done. Quote Link to post
Running 7
i have used my staffs out on a lamp i dont see why any terrier cant do it they will never be as fast as a running dog out in the fields but still worth giving it a go Quote Link to post
