Bad night at the Marksman & Festa Office.....

Hi guys....

Well....Myself and festa ventured out on Sunday night to our permission for a mid xmas holidays lamping session.

Arriving at a new part of our permission we'd never tried before at around 3am. In -5 degree conditions we wrapped up and headed out.

The first steps into the snow covered field sent the 6-7 bunnies that were there fleeing for cover. I'm not surprised, we sounded like a batallion of soldiers on the march!

We both decided it would be better to camp up by the railway embankment and see what arose.

Wor kid decided to have a mooch about the field next door as I waited patiently for bugs to show up!

After 30mins bugs decided to venture out popping his head up out of his hole then quickly retreating. He done this a few times before eventually getting used to the lamp and venturing further out of his "safe zone".

The distance was only about 15m so I lined up, gently squeezed down to 2nd stage, was just about to let loose when bugs hopped behind a log......He was there about 5 mins then popped out the other side....."I'm not letting you go this time" I remember saying to myself, so lined up, 1 mildot holdunder just behind the eye, took up the 1st stage and then let rip............ sniper.gif

The telltale THUD of the Prometheus Dynamic hitting home and watched bugs roll was a welcome sight.

Wor kid then turned up empty handed. There were plenty about but as soon as you made a move they were scarpering.....

Back to the van for a cuppa we went.

After a cuppa we ventured over to our usual sniping point and after an hour....NOTHING!

Seems like bugs was tucked up in bed, maybe where we should have been!

We went back to the van again, had another cuppa and an hours kip ready for the days ferretting session!

Here's my one and only headshot(ignore clarity, was taken on my phone, the camera batteries went flat with the cold!!) .....

nice one Darryl

nice to see some one getting out, just an idea! do you think it might work if you had a flask of hot water. then poured it over a spot within your zero, to melt the snow so as the Bunny's can see green grass .it may tempt them out to your zero then THWACK! just a thought! worth a go.not much snow down here at the mo but, Thursday & Friday we have it coming.if i get out the week end might give it a go me self.

well done buddy

regards
