Two bigger hounds are welsh x harrier and two smaller ones are beagle x harrier ,to listen the welsh xare a lot better.Beagle x are a bit more stuborn

do they stay close to you, or do they take of once they are released?

i like the look of the welsh hound, but there is very litte information to be found, other than that they have strong voices.

do they follow cold tracks for instance?

Welsh are very obidient well mine are ,they will hunt as far as the quary runs .Beagle will tend to bable on all day .Like i said thats my opinion of the ones i own
