suggs 0 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Share Posted December 29, 2009 (edited) how about KFR a modified nigella recipe works well with any meat that is not too fatty or is prone to get dry if not done right joint rabbit and soak in milk over night following day remove that jelly stuff if it is there, bring to boil in the soaking milk and simmer gently till tender take out and cool, give loyal companion resulting milk except if that is your partner in which case give it to the dog get 3 freezer bags plain flour in one, couple of eggs beaten in another, breadcrumbs in another (do plenty) mix pepper, salt, black pepper and a bit of cayenne/powdered chillis into breadcrumbs takes a bit of guesswork this but you can test it by frying a blob of breadcrumbs, eggs and flour mixed together dip joints as follows flour, egg, breadcrumbs, egg, breadcrumbs and set aside on a rack until you have done all of it for true KFR flavour use pura lard or a vegetable shortening other wise use a good bland veg oil or lard pan or deep fry till crispy and golden, and drain on some kitchen paper or crumpled paper makes some chips / wedges whilst frying and crack open another beer make sure you have not invited too many people cos you are going to be gutted when its finished! try this on anyone who says they dont like rabbit ........... and tell em its cat just remembered an instruction to help hence the edit Edited December 30, 2009 by suggs Quote Link to post Share on other sites

charlie caller 3,654 Posted December 29, 2009 Report Share Posted December 29, 2009 Try this its called normandy rabbit,cut your bunny in half then partboil for 30 mins, remove and allow to cool,strip meat from bones,brown for about 5-10 mins in a little olive oil and 4 cloves of garlic crushed,then add 2-3 tbl spoons of tomato puree and brown for a further 5 mins,then add half a pint of dry cider,and simmer for about 5-7 mins,goes well with mash and veg with a little parsley on top,or rice and peas, try it mate its absolutely gorgeous,works well with squirrel too enjoy CHARLIE CALLER Quote Link to post Share on other sites

Roll it up as best you can and wrap streaky bacon around the meat parcel. In a pre- heated oven for 30-40 minutes turning at half way. Serve with veg, mash and onion gravy. lush on a winters night.
