Roe Buck in the snow - the deer version of sticking two fingers up...

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I was in a high seat a few days ago thinking to myself, where on earth are all the Muntjac hiding and had come to the conclusion that like me, they should have been somewhere warm, when this Roe Buck walked onto a ride about 130 yards away.

He lingered there while I glassed him for a minutes - all the while wishing his little shotgun cartridge antlers were a figment of my imagination, but they were there so I left him alone and he drifted back into the woods.

About twenty minutes later he popped out about 20 yards from me and spent the next 5 minutes playing around in front of the high seat - chew a bramble here, stick nose up at hunter, pull a grass blade there, stick nose up at hunter - he was so relaxed and in the end, just wandered quietly away.

I hope we meet again when the season changes...

yes the pictures are a bit rubbish, but it isn't easy taking pics in the snow!
