all the saluki crosses im running at the moment are just that, crosses. these are the only first crosses ive had for years.they are ideal for baseing a family on,then crossing them back into the old breed saluki crosses. running styles vary from fast at them to stay all day types overall not a bad cross they could be anything.

Can you tell me anything regarding there temprament, running style, attitude etc.

i have seen saluki crosses run but never a first cross and always at winter hares on big fields.

only bad thing i can say about my saluki cross is the whine they do. in time they get a bit better other than that mate a fantastic dog a pleasure to own. all the best mate... lamp king

I had one 20 year ago if you can call it a first cross it was out of ginger frenches supposedly pure saluki luke.He was no world beater but i was happy with him and lamped him on a veriaty of quarry and for a 29tts dog did reasonably well.I have seen quite a few first crosses run over the years the most noted first crosses were out of ballyreagen bob and a saluki bitch that produced beany and its litter sister a bitch called sally that a lad down south used to match a lot.The other first crosses i remember seeing run were out of a crazy saluki a lad had at bramptom beirlow nr barnsly in the 80s .The dogs out of this cross can produce the odd big un but like has been said i have never seen a featherd one out of a first cross.atvb dell

I run one at the moment mate and to be honest he's turned out better than I thought as a bit of an all rounder.I brought him for the big fields in the fens (daytime) and he is very good at his trade but he also dose ok on the lamp after the bunnys. Obviously he,s no night time world beater he tends to try and use his legs rather than his brain but he's certainly a tryer and always puts on a nice show with the longer slips. He was a pain in the arse until he was two and then he just seemed to click now probably one of the easyest longdogs to work that I've known very honest and he will walk at heal all night off the slip. And he will take em all but tends to run the red uns down a bit before he tackles/retreives them :whistling:
