black lab 3
Hello, I cannot thank this forum enough, i noticed a few weeks back someone was moving area so i though i would jump in and ask was the ground he had up for lease? as i have my DSC 1&2 ect, but was informed his family was going to take care of it, after that a very nice chap contacted me via this forum, we passed e-mails ect, at first i though it was a wee xmate of mine winding me up, sorry for thinking that was cursing him upside down, i went today and met Duncan+ the owner of a very large area of ground 2800acres mostly woodland and new plantation's, James has been let down by a guy that said he would do a good job for him and conned James the guy had not a clue about Deer Management and the problem never got any better if anything James said he though it got worse and checked his back ground[say no more] asked to leave! and the people that check the tree's said if he does not do something very quick about the problem he will have to pay back more of the grant money and up to date he has repayed a lot of money back into replanting damage tree's, and has also been granted a lamping license because of Deer damage, there is 600acres of small tree's, the tree's were planted about 2 years ago and mostly fenced in, and i could not believe the damage the Deer had done in the past in the smallest plantation of over 200acres which half has been replanted, they drove me and my cousin to have a look and there were Roe's jumping over the fence line everywhere, James asked me and my cousin to shoot at a target at 100yards i only got two shot off and he said that was fine, my cousin done like wise, shooting test over, he asked us some questions about Deer in general glands/gralloching ect everything went ok, so i sighned paperwork only for 1 year he said he has been bitten once and just wants to keep himself right[dont blame him] and just cannot believe my luck, over the moon its like a dream and do not want pinched incase i am dreaming, James also said he has a chill that we can use[that will come in handy] as i do not have one, there is also a quad which we can use but his wife was away to the local shop to pick up something and to get some fuel, as we walked about most of the fire breaks have good paths and tracks that can be tackled with my 4x4, as he has been in the past mucking about with 4x4 offroader[hobby] and i think some of the places he has been i would not even think of going, there's an old landrover that he has wrecked but said it would start with a pull or jump start, no roof on it just anti rollbars as a roof [fcuk that] think i will stick to my 4x4 and when his wife came back i was like a big child on the quad today going daft with my cousin shouting in my ear to slow down as he was shiting himself he thought he was going to fall off what a laugh, cannot wait because we glassed over some of the ground and there was Roe's all over the place, but we spotted a very large group of Red's and James said we would have to make a good reduction in the group, there's a few high seats already in place [6] 2 of which we are going to move tomorrow and concentrate on the smaller plantation it's mainly Roe's in it, and that's my kind of shooting as i am not the fittest bloke on the planet, i am going up to the ground in the morning with another mate i had out last week and he got two Roe's and was thrilled to bits as he had not shot anything for a while, he will shit himself tomorrow cannie wait, wont sleep tonight, by the way came home with 4 Roe's today and Duncan went away with 5 show off all from the small plantation, Duncan cannot thank you enough mate going to the gamedealer when we have finished tomorrow, had to pick up a loan of a trailer tonight from my local estate, again thank's to this brill forum. All the Best for 2010... Quote Link to post
