littletimmy 71
Sorry but how the hell is there any hipocracy in saying its cruel? There is a huge difference in dealing with pests in as quick and humane way as posible and burning a hole through a bears nose and making it dance for entertainment and money. Anyone who thinks these two things are linked in anyway shouldnt be on this website... Things like whaling etc although I wouldnt fancy it myself I can understand as it supplies meat, 'medicines' etc and goes back a along way into thier culture. Dancing bears were started as a money making tourist attraction so its hardly a culture or way of life is it? Thats not the point people are making. The point is, a bear dancing in its self is not cruel. However, poking a hot rod through its nose and ragging it about on rope while beating it is. So why not just enforce law to prevent the hot rod, beating etc and if you train a bear to dance, using similar methods you train your dog to sit, lay down etc then where is the harm? Becuase its too hard, and it easier and more money raising to brandish them all as evil. The link between bear dancing and hunting is not the activity itself but the way it is been treated in its respected countries. Here we are unable to hunt because the anti's put a spin on hunting and potrayed us all as bloodlusting scum. Its fact there are wankers like this, but they are a minority, but does the media state this? No. So we all pay the price. As i expect there are/was plenty of bear trainers who done things in a proper way who have had there income and only way of earning money stripped away. Also the circus, should they be banned - just another thing to think about. I remember going to bulguria about 15 years ago, the bears where muzzled an on a lead like a dog and they was letting us kids stroke the bears, not brutalized like in that video. All people are trying to say is theres more than one way to skin a cat and theres good and bad in everything.( maybe not the best phrase i nthis scenario, but hey!) Attack Fell Terrier 864
Dancing bears I don't agree with, I think dancing Pigs or dancing Wombats would be better .

Like I say I dont like their tradition, but their again they may not like the fact I have a docked terrier etc etc etc.

black lab 3
Just been watching the news about Dancing Bears and putting a stop to this cruel practice, what gets me is they are being given a new lease of life, this is pointless they may as well shoot them, even without the ring or rope in their nose, they will have been conditioned for so long that anyone who plays music near these haunted beasts will still dance,i reckon the people who trained them should have it done to them and make them dance, sad f*****s Higgins It's fcuken sick and as long as there making money they will continue to do it sad fcuker's :censored:

trappa 518
I saw a dancing bear in Bulgaria about 10years ago. Some gypos were bringing it round the tourist spots. Even then they got loads of shit from people. They were claiming it to be hungry and needed money for food. We were laughing as a group of jocks were giving them loads of abuse telling them to feed the fecking dog they had with them to it!
higgins 75
I still think it's cruel and i hunt, hypocrite i may be but the difference is i choose to kill or release, but my original post was about whether it's too late to release them or is it better to end their days, anyway what sort of life will they have in a controlled compound, they still have to be fed by man having lost their natural instinct to hunt and find food, and then at the slightest sound of music their worst memories will come flooding back so conditioned are they that they will never be able to forget their cruel treatment, just like to add that i 'm glad this project has succeeded in releasing the last of the dancing bears, Hoggins
