wee gemm hunter 8
bought myself some muck boots today i normally get hunters wellies but the last pair i got were crap didnt last more than a couple of month .walked about 5 mile today in them and there were dry and warm and felt like slippers realy impressed with them .just wondering what other people opinion of them are and if they are durable enough to last a couple of years I loved my muck boots, but I walk over a lot of rough ground and I always felt you could maybe go over on your ankle on them, not that I ever did, I probably would still be wearing them after a year if my bitch hadn't gurried them by mistake, she didn't mean it just got a bit carried away. So the wife got me a pair of meindls for christmas, felt like Frankenstiens monster at first but after a couple of days hard walking, well impressed, feel a lot more secure knowing if you go over, your ankle will be sound but your shin will snap. Daveo 61
I found the soles poor on some surfaces, but other than that spot on. Just watch the neophene on barbed wire!! its the quickest way to ruin them.
stabba 10,745
Same here. I found the soles to wear down pretty quick on hard surfaces. Other than that they are fine. atb stabba
JohnGalway 1,043
I walked my last pair to death in under one year. Had them on for the day job and for shooting so they got lots of miles under them. Cons are they're too hot for summer and depending on the person wearing them maybe too hot for very active work in mild weather. Spot on for Winter though. They will slip easily on slippery stuff, ended up on my arse once or thrice. If you're not reasonably careful around rocks and sharp stuff they can rip relatively easily. I opened one of my first pair with a bit of careless handling of the deck in a sheep trailer, corner swiped the boot and made a neat cut. Pro's are they're extremely comfortable, waterproof, and most important for a welly, keep you dry in the wet stuff. My opinion, well, after I killed my first pair and done some fair amount of reading, asking and looking around, I went and bought a second pair
monkjack 0
think they are great boots but agree about barbwire rips them to easy. i just got a pair of irish setters they make the muck boots feel like cheapo wellies for comfort but they do cost three times as much. i still have the muckboots and wont get rid of them but there are a lot better types on the market if you can afford them. you get what you pay for. but imo if on a budget get the muck boots and you cant go far wrong just avoid barbwire lol. happylamper 7
spot on wellies for walking in but did get caught on some barb wire and ripped them at the top.
mushroom 12,917
spot on wellies for walking in but did get caught on some barb wire and ripped them at the top. Same here but luckily didn't go through the inner membrane so they're still water tight. Soles don't take a lot to wear down but by God they are comfy and warm
diggerman 0
Had a pair ruined them in under a month. I now just buy these http://www.surplusandadventure.com/shop/boots-walking/military-boots/us-extreme-cold-weather-boots-524758.html they are really warm, my feet never get wet, and lets face it at that price if you ruin them its no big deal. In summer I just wear Zamberlan hiking boots.

leegreen 2,169
As said, very warm so not good in summer, soles not great, brambles and wire mess them up quickly( as with all wellies) Quite light and very comfy, "I have a pair of "Tay" muck boots £60ish. chartpolski 23,478
I got a pair a year ago; Good points; Light, warm, comfortable. Bad points; no support, neoprene rips easily, soles went smooth far to quickly, rubber split across the toes. Conclusion; not worth the money, not sturdy enough for serious walking or hunting. Won't be getting anothe pair. Cheers.
rizla1 122
had a pair of muck boots once thought they were shit, used to were them lamping not to bad when your in the field but slip like hell when you walk on tarmac or concrete and leathel when you climb over metal gates and after about 10 mounths one of the soles fell off
