Guest Ditch_Shitter
If Doddo will pardon my saying; F*** a PM on a dead ferret. Easy enough to suggest. Quite another thing to arrange and pay for. And what would it tell ye? Maybe it had a hole in its heart? My brother had a perfectly well bred and healthy young Rhodesian Ridgeback drop dead on him. Walking along, fine. Sat down. Gave a sort of howl and keeled over. Six months old. Hole in the heart. As I seem to be repeating time and time again just lately ..... well, bugger repeating it yet again just tonight alone. I have work to get on with. Please go take a look at Erin Go Bragh's thread. This board. Ferrets DO just drop dead, once in a while. I'd guestimate as many as 5% do. That means a bloody site more survive to die peacefully in a warm nest than can be said of wild mink, polecats or stoats. Learning to stare, open mouthed. Swear under our breath. Bury the poor buggers deep and then thank our good judgement that we have enough others to carry on with is just part and parcel of keeping working ferrets. This sort of shit happens. Always has and always will. At least we don't tend to see the ghastly symptoms of Distemper or Foot Rot any more. But Sudden Mysterious Death (Syndrome. People like to call things 'Syndrome', these days, no?) I imagine will always haunt ferrets. Likely always has. Quote Link to post
