Nik_B 3,790
The local hunt are normally in a position and licensed to take fallen stock and this is fed to the hounds. Other companies do exist and they often have contracts with zoos etc and the stock go there for feed. Otherwise it has to be incinerated if its diseased or full of drugs. Thanks for the reply. SO if the animal has been party eatten they aren't allowed to take them for this purpose? Sorry for the questions was just interested. Quote Link to post

weejohn 3
There was only a spine and skin left of it when i was out. It really was eaten quickly. The guys who lift the fallen stock say they must be complete. Even a dead ewe with its eyes pecked out ( technically ) cannot be taken by them. Hi mate would you mind explaining what you mean by this please? Who can take dead stock and what do they do with it? Many thanks As bert says most hunts have a licence to collect fallen stock and process them for the hounds but i was speaking to a knackerman and he says that they are not meant to collect any fallen stock which have any parts missing. I forgot to ask him why but i suppose it is for disease reasons although they do use there common sense and relise that if a ewe has even lay dead for a couple of hours the chances it will have its tongue/eyes eaten so will still lift it.
