dunc 7
hi got a hatsan 3, 1/2in magnum the lad that sold me it Sade it would also take 2,1/2in cartridges but when i took it out for a shot it takes the first shot ejects and the 2nd cartridge won't fire ie the first cart hasn't shoved the cocking system back far enough tried it with 2,3/4 AAA and the same no joy, i have never tried 3 or 3,1/2in yet as it may just take them what yous think lads. SportingShooter 0
Only thing to do is either fire a lot of three inchers to loosen the action, or sit there and move the bolt back and forth to wear it a bit. Never oil an auto, it will just attract dust and other grime and you'll end up with blocks in gas ports and such like. I have done it myself and it takes hour after hour to get right again Quote Link to post
Deker 3,478
I'm trying to remember back to my lads, this MUST have a minimum of 2.75 inch cart I think or it WILL jam, the manufacturer says as much in the literature and it is well known. It's a bad design...as is most of the rest of the gun. All the best, have you a decent Life Assurance policy in place??? Quote Link to post
Colster 1
They are well known for cycling problems with sub 3" carts. Some lucky people have ones that will cycle anything but it seems the exception rather than the rule so either feed it the big stuff or sell it. Quote Link to post

Deker 3,478
It is probably more than well known to many on this site that I am about as anti as it is possible to be over this gun, as the one I got brand new for my lad proved Dangerous to put it mildly. So all my views stem from this position. 1 The gun is CHEAP in every way! 2 The gun has inherent design flaws 3 Materials and workmanship and quality control are poor 4 Some will get a reasonable one by the law of averages 5 Look how many times people start "Problem" threads about this gun on THL, and compare that to any other gun, it crops up regularly! Get rid and stay clear of Hatsan Magnums. This gun can be had for £300-350 New, save a bit more and get a second hand better make! ATB and Merry Christmas!!! Quote Link to post
