jpt 284
Do people ever cross with a whipet instead of greyhound? The greyhound x is a very big dog. I havnt got the room for such a big dog but they do look great and I have heard they do the job very well indeed! JPT Quote Link to post

rabbit slayer 22
Ive got a chocolate coloured bullx, shes five months and is the most obidient dog ive had. Shes already brought back a mixy rabbit back to hand whilst out walking her the other day. And she has the most loveing nature. RS Quote Link to post
jigsaw 11,863
I am well impressed with these bull crosses, they look the biz, whats the chance of getting them to retrieve live to hand, rabbits obviously.Just got a mental picture of a bull cross retrieving a fox live to hand in the night,'nah boy you keep it,eh piss off fella, theres a good boy'.Has anyone got a dog of that mix that'll retrieve live.I own a p\bull pure bred and I would think obedience would'nt be a problem as they're very willing to please but with a wriggling bunny in his mouth,I wonder. jigsaw 11,863
oops the reply above from rabbit slayer may answer my querie.I'm investing in a lurcher after Christmas and am trying to decide which cross to go for.I need a ferreting\net guarder mainly but would like an all rounder, fox taker, hare exerciser etc.Unsure if the bull crosses can control their emotions in these departments, especially with the nets. bullcross1 10
i have a bull cross, its a very intelligent dog its never let me down and its done its job to a good standard on everything that ive slipped him on. He retrieves rabbits alive to hand night in and night out but the only problem i have with mine and a couple of friends have the same problem is that they are to keen mine is always cutting himself and getting knocked up due to his running style and he can be posesive over dead rabbits and foxes. Guest alastair
my last bullx was a trier and wouldnt even brake up a bit when any obstacles in front ,she would run flat out into woods, hedges, etc, killed herself in the end,but soft as butter with the kids.my new one is a bit more carefull and is live to 1 metre away :11: but is only young.if you get one of the do or die types make sure your pockets full of cash when you go lamping, cause your most likely be on first name terms with the vet. mattygg 0
I owned a dog, he was a fantastic worker 1/4 bull. He retrieved live to hand until about 18 months, thereafter he used to simply crunch rabbits and drop them looking for the next one!! Definately one sadly missed in the kennel Hear lots of great stories of the dogs, are the bitches 1/4 bred as universal?? Quote Link to post
