shovel 160
Hi lads. Went out tody to check some earths.I had my old working bitch and a 20 month old young bitch. Got a strong mark from both terriers at last earth of the day so i collared up young bitch and away she went. I could hear her sounding away out under the field and the B&f said .8. As this was her first time to ground and meeting charlie i was well chuffed. After about 15 mins to ground she took a hold and then it all went wrong. terrier showed to me out the mouth and would not return to ground. Ah fck i taught he bolted.collared up my old bitch then and dug to her with a good hold of charlie in the same place the young bitch had him. gave young bitch another look but she wasnt interested. let charlie run for another day backfilled and headed home. As this bitch is well bred and i have her since a pup ill give her another chance before she goes to a pet home. She doesnt look like she will make the grade.OF all the good days we have out the bad days seem to hit alot harder. just goes to show that a good working terrier is priceless and we should really appreciate the good ones when they come along. Guest AngelicAcid
Sometimes It can take a long time for the penny to drop. Good luck with the pup mate. Ive had a few dogs that started of very well, entered searched, found and stayed. In the end I ruined what would of been a canny bitch, she just used to sit at the entrance of the earth. Dont give up and keep us updated. Quote Link to post
caterpiller 10
I broke through to the Old Dog last weekend, pulled him out and let one of my Bitches have a look, just stood there staring into the hole wagging her tail?????? hopefully she will come on?????? if not, 2 years wasted Quote Link to post
rizla1 122
it is hard work bringing a dog up from pup only for it to let you down but stick with it she could come on in time, mate of mine once showed is terrier a fox after a dig to have a rag and he only wanted to hump it and he turned out to be an exelant earth dog Quote Link to post
