Yokel Matt 918
from reading some of the threads on here and reading of the success of a days stalking. i was wondering what cal is been used andscopes and mod needed for stalking regards adam Hi Adam, This can be quite an emotive subject as its all down to personal preference – Rifle calibre, fixed or variable power scope, bino’s etc. There is also the temptation to go in for all the gadgets and accessories when you’re first starting up but it’s best to keep things simple. I’m quite new to stalking so take this as it’s intended as advice from one beginner to another... I take the following: Rifle: 6.5x555, P8 Mod with S&B 8X56 scope Bino’s: 10x40 Sticks Belt with Knife, 10 round ammo pouch (140 grain soft poits), Small field bone saw. Roesack containing hanked rope, surgical gloves, large plastic food bag with a few sheets of kitchen roll, Mobile phone, Duplicate FAC and authority letter. Of course what you take depends on what you’re after and where you’re after it. All the best Quote Link to post

SNAP SHOT 194
i use it for fox and deer mate, i shoot either 95grain sst or hornady 100g sp for deer.... and 87g v-max for foxy.. killing range is all in your ability to place the shot.... with any weapon. fox i've taken at 437 yards longest to date..... red about 216 i think it was... fallow 282 yards.... although most of my shots for deer tend to be around 200 or so yards, if looking for a dual purpose cal. then i'd recommend it, but its all about personal preference. build up your knowledge of the cal. you buy, And then when your comfortable, you can then increase your ranges whenever you are confident you can place the shot accurately. i hope this helps you out..
