Tracks identification.

Seasons Greetings All

Out with the gun last night practising my resistance to sub zero temperatures :)

Anyway, I had parked up the truck with the passenger window facing a hedge where earlier tracking had revealed a few bunnies might be around, set up the NV add on to the scope and had just settled down when out came the first customer. 1 fat winter buck droppped like a stone. As there was no twitching I left him where he fell rather than disturb any others that may be on their way.

About 5 - 10 minutes passed and suddenly theres movement in the mouth of a hole about 5 yards from where the rabbit lay. Switching on the laser to get better illumination my first reaction was disbelief as what appeared to be one of my poley ferrets was lurking there! The beast darted around the hole mouth but after a few furtive glances it disappeared back underground.

I went back today and took a pic of his tracks:

It seems to only have 4 claws.. though at 30 yards through good NV gear it looked just like a poley ferret. Any suggestions on what it was folks?

HH all.
