Chap..this thread has nothing to do with Sport, and it is the airgun section. The question was about the legality of shooting Hare with an air rifle.

 

I think that has been resolved.

 

Nobody here is talking dogs, and rarely if ever do you find the rifle people wondering to the dogs section and blaming you for cruelty or suggesting we have a much higher successs rate, so probably best not to keep bringing up the dog business which we all know has legal issues anyway.

It is not illegal. If you shoot a hare in the right place at sensible range with an air rifle you will kill it, much the same as with a rabbit or a pigeon.

couldnt you agrue the same thing for all quarry? i dont think much has a chance with a pellet driven into its brain. that said i wouldnt shoot hares either

Never really considered shooting hares, a bit soppy I know but aren't they supposed to be one of these "magical" creatures ? Funny really I suppose, I'll shoot magpie's all day long but i'm sure shooting a Hare will put some sort of voodoo stuff on you. Maybe I should carry a chicken's foot as well as my HW100 ?
