Annmarie09 5 Posted December 24, 2009 Report Share Posted December 24, 2009 The advice above is fine if your dog has a bit of the runs for a day or two, but personally, after a week and if it is now like water I would take him to the vet, it could be a virus or a gastric thing, but either way he will be getting dehydrated and will probably need some electrolytes. Dogs can die very quickly from dehydration and it is much harder for them to recover from it than it is for humans. Pinch a flap of skin on his scruff and see if it snaps back straight away. Press his gums and see if the colour comes back almost immediately. If not he is dehydrated. Quote Link to post Share on other sites
